Here is a list of the Frequently Asked Questions.  If you cannot find the answer that you are looking for anywhere on our site, feel free to submit feedback or send us an email at support@chrysalisinformationsystems.com.

We will either post a response here or email you directly back.
Q: Why Chrysalis or what is Chrysalis?

A: Chrysalis is the stage of metamorphous between a caterpillar and a butterfly.  To us it symbolizes evolution and protection and so we at Chrysalis Information Systems strive to keep up with the latest technologies to ensure that we can best benefit and anticipate our clients’ needs.

Q: Where is your office located at?

A: Our office is located in Santa Ana but is not open to the public, however, most of our work is done either remotely or onsite of our clients work place.  We also guarantee to be available onsite to our clients within 2 hours in case of an emergency and can arrange a meeting time otherwise.

Q: What happens if we terminate the Service Agreement early?

A: If you wish to terminate the Service Agreement early we simply ask that you give us two weeks in advance notice in hopes that we may be able to help better support you.  However, if you still wish to terminate we will respect your wish and refund you the remaining months if you paid in advance.

Also all of the data and information that we have with our clients is given back to the client for their reference.  We still keep a copy up to three years of termination so that in case the client needs it in the future or the client wishes to return.  The data and information is then destroyed from our records after the three years have passed.  There is no other penalty as we value our costumers always.

Q: What is VM and how does it benefit?

A: VM Stands for Virtual Machine, which is basically a software based computer running within a physical computer.  The easiest way to describe is running a computer within a computer by the use of a Virtual Player such as VM Player.  The VM Player acts similar to a DVD or Blu-ray Player on a television, where it plays a media from storage.

The benefit of a Virtual Machine is that it is not hard ware dependent (it can run on Windows or MAC), you can run multiple servers or desktops from one single machine, it can be used for testing, and it can even guarantee a complete backup of any Windows based system without the need of shutting down or restarting the machine (this includes servers).

Q: Who needs a backup and what kind of backup is the best backup?

A: This is an excellent question and to be honest, anyone who has any important digital information should have a backup, especially those of us required by law to have public records digitalized.

There are many types of backups such as a flash drive backup, external hard drive backup, and Online Backup.  Those backups are then controlled by either full system backups, disaster recovery backups or selected file backups, and also by frequency such as hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

It is difficult to say what type of backup is best suited for your needs without a full evaluation.  Please consult a computer technician when looking into backups.

The best type of backup however is a full disaster recovery backup such as VM Ware Converter, Symantec Backup Exec, Symantec Ghost, Arconis Backup and Recovery and so on.  There are also online backups that can also accomplish this as well.
